MPAC (Marblehead Pesticide Awareness Committee)
MPAC is a local, volunteer citizens' activist group based in Marblehead, Massachusetts, now into its ninth year of a successful "Awareness through Education" campaign on pesticide issues.
MPAC's mission is to reduce and eliminate use of toxic chemical pesticides in our community.
Goals
Our goal is to educate homeowners, landscape professionals, and town officials about the threats to human and environmental health posed by these chemicals -
and to
promote the many alternative practices and products readily available which can prevent (and if necessary treat) both indoor and outdoor pest problems.
The Future is Organic
The overwhelmingly positive response our campaign has received from Marblehead citizens, as well as from other communities, has supported our view that the future is organic - and that alternatives to toxic chemical pesticides and chemical lawn and garden care will soon be the products and services of choice throughout Massachusetts and, indeed, throughout the country.
Check the Calendar/Events page for lectures/classes offered by MPAC.
