Home Owners are Demanding Organic Care from Professional Landscapers
While the market demand for an organic approach to lawn and landscape services is growing at a rapid rate, professionals actually trained and/or experienced in organic lawn and land care in your local area may still be scarce.
We always encourage consumers to work with the lawn and landscape professional they are using now - if they are happy with their services - and if they are open to an organic approach. In some cases, however, the consumer needs to direct the transition from a chemical program to an organic approach- not an easy task for most people, although there is plenty of material available (see Resources) to turn to for help.
There is an easier way! A professional-accreditation program in Organic Land Care is available from the leaders in organic agriculture - the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA), through their newly-developed Organic Land Care Program.
Organic Training for Professionals
The NOFA training program is highly-recommended for landscapers and lawn care professionals looking to respond to the growing demand for organic services. Interested citizens can also attend - a great way to educate yourself about organic lawn care.
Be sure to visit NOFA's websites - www.nofamass.org and www.organiclandcare.net for details on the latest training program; a list of lawn and landsape providers in your area who are already NOFA-certified Organic Land Care; and a copy of A Citizen's Guide to Organic Land Care.
